What happens when you blend imagination, computer programming, competition, and LEGOs? You get the best class Mount Si High School has to offer and the most fun you'll have learning any subject - Robotics!
This technology engineering course will introduce students to robotics and develop the skills necessary to succeed in the 21st Century workplace. Fundamental concepts of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics will be taught in a fun and engaging environment that strengthens a student's ability to problem-solve, think logically, work in teams, innovate, communicate, and manage time. Students will learn how to build robots, program movement and instruction, collect and analyze data through sensor feedback, and apply math and science to solve real-world engineering problems.
Robotics Class - Flagship Example of STEM
A new directive in the school district is to create new programs and enhance existing programs with content that's heavily focused on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) themes. To aid in that effort, the Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation launched a new fundraising initiative to fund those efforts. To highlight the skills, creativity, and interest that STEM programs can foster in students, the Foundation chose Mount Si's Introduction to Robotics Engineering class to be the preeminent example of STEM in action.
