Want to demystify how computers work? Interested in uncovering how computing has changed the world? Like project-based classes that focus more on problem-solving and thinking like a computer scientist and less memorizing? Come to this class!
Prepare to develop mad computer science skills like algorithm development, higher order functions, recursion, and programming paradigms! You'll also explore concepts such as computer interface design, computational limitations, societal and ethical issues of software engineering, and the future trend of computer technology.
This fascinating new class at Mount Si High School will be offered 1st semester in the 2012-2013 school year to students in grades 9 through 12.
This course is being offered through a partnership between the Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation and TEALS (Technology Education and Literacy in Schools); a grassroots employee driven program that puts high tech professionals in high school classrooms alongside teachers to team-teach technology literacy and computer science.
